ORIGINS : 

 

FILL the WELL poetic was a finalist in the Artizen Lab Competition sponsored by the Music Center of Los Angeles and Good Corps.

 

Citizens were invited to submit 5-WORD poems online to quench the California Drought prior to official live launch 

at the Grand Park Book Fest in DTLA on March 28, 2015.

 

The debut of the public poetry project was an immediate success with a sea of blue ribbons spread all around Grand Park and festival-goers' enthusiastic posting of their 5-WORD poems on social media.  

 

From there FILL the WELL poetic has activated more events since : Grand Park Picnic, LA Times Festival of Books with Red Hen Press, LA River Poetry Reading by Red Hen Press, Santa Ana Artwalk, Ciclavia with Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena, and most recently LA Ride Ride by the Los Angeles Bike Coalition.

 

FILL the WELL poetic is also delivering kits to various Southern California schools and libraries as a direct result of these events.
